Now recently, life has felt a bit slow. Mostly because I am not in the stress of the festival creation and I do really really well in the eye of the storm. It’s not really like I am not doing anything, we’re doing an annual market (Malawi Made Market, every second Saturday at Blend, Zomba), launched Afrovibes, a recurrent event blending soft afro music and conversation and I am producing Dzulo Lathu, an immersive exhibition for the National Libraries. But still, there’s A LOT of space in my day (which I fill with rest, art and taking care of my home). There’s also a lot of space in my bank account and quite some space where it comes to future creation.
So why not try get rejected 1000 times as well. If you set out for disappointment, then anything won, will be a gain!

Thus far (I started yesterday) I have applied to two residencies, a networking event, a writing gig and a curatorial fellowship.
I want to take a year doing this, so I need to apply to about three things a day (Or more if I have skipped a day). This is me announcing, I will keep you posted on where it’s going!

much love,
Laura
